Habakkuk is written by a man who finds it difficult to understand what God was doing - particularly in what seemed like inaction toward evil and injustice. Unlike other prophetic scripture, Habakkuk questions God's ways because he sees so much evil in the world. He's troubled at why God would either allow or ordain the evil Babylon to judge Israel. Habakkuk gets his answer at the end of this book - God promises to defeat evil and bring justice to a world that desperately needs it.
