Adults

Outside of our weekly worship gathering, we offer three regular activities for Adults to go deeper together in the Scriptures, in prayer, and in relationships. We offer two Sunday School options before our church service, a Wednesday night prayer meeting, and various discipling groups and Bible studies that occur throughout the year.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School classes are probably what you are picturing in your head if you've been in a Sunday School class before—a time for our church members to get together with one another for extra teaching and fellowship. Both our Adult Sunday School classes spend time in prayer and Bible study. We offer Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:00 AM. For more info, email cody@fbalcoa.org.

Fellowship Class

The Fellowship Class is our longest running Sunday School. It originally started as a class for young married couples, but it now has people from all walks of life. There have been a number of good teachers over the decades including the current teacher Harold Damron, one of our elders. It is predominantly a class of senior adults, but it has adults of all ages. This class focuses on teaching through books of the Bible.

BYKOTA Class

The BYKOTA class takes its name from Ephesians 4:32: “Be ye kind one to another.” This class emphasizes meaningful community. They meet in Room 110 for coffee, soda, and snacks before diving into Bible study, so bring your Bibles and your appetite

Prayer Meeting (Wednesdays at 6 PM)

At FBA, we value prayer. We believe in its power. We firmly believe, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain…” (Psalm 127:1a). The most important ministry in our church, which every member can be part of, is praying for the church, our members, and our neighbors. Every Wednesday night, we have a prayer meeting from 6-7 PM which is typically led by one of our elders. During our time together, we have a concentrated time of prayer typically for a specific need or concern before turning to a period of intercessory prayer for spoken prayer requests. We usually end our time with a great deal of fellowship and joyful conversation.

Discipling Groups and Bible Studies

We have several discipling groups and Bible studies that meet on a limited or irregular schedule. These can often be multi-generational, but aren’t always. Many of them are separated by gender. The discipling groups may often contain Bible studies, prayer times, book reading, accountability, and/or fellowship. If you’re interested in finding a discipling group or Bible study, please contact Chandler at chandler@fbalcoa.org.
