Trying out a new church can feel intimidating or awkward, but it doesn’t have to be. We want you to know everything that you need to feel welcome and relaxed at FBA.
What is your service like?
Our hope is that everyone at First Baptist Alcoa will have heard the gospel message both sung and spoken by the end of every service. We sing songs–old and new–that are rich in biblical truth and proclaim the glories of the gospel and our God. We pray together throughout the service. We hear Scripture read in multiple parts of the service, and we sit under expositional sermons–sermons that aim to explain a biblical text, point to Jesus and the gospel with that text, and apply it to our lives–preached by our Senior Pastor, a church leader, or a guest preacher. Our services begin at 10:30 AM and typically last a little over an hour. We also serve coffee from 10 AM until the service starts.
How do I get there?
We are located at 819 Gilbert Street in Alcoa, Tennessee in the heart of the Springbrook neighborhood. If you’re coming from Maryville or Knoxville, we’re just a few minutes off Alcoa Highway via N. Wright Road or E. Hunt Road.
What should I wear?
We’re more concerned with the gospel message than attire or appearance. Most attendees wear casual dress, so as long as you’re comfortable you’ll fit right in.
What is there for my kids?
We provide a nursery during the service for children up to five years old, and for part of the service, we offer Epic Kids, which is an age-appropriate teaching time for K-5th graders. Children are welcome to remain in the service with their families.
