Q: Do you have to be a member of FBA to play in the orchestra?

A: No – you do not have to be a member of FBA to play in the orchestra. In addition, no audition is required.

Q: How often does the Worship Orchestra play?

A: The Worship Orchestra assists in corporate worship each Sunday morning. In addition, the Worship Orchestra participates in our Living Christmas Tree and our Easter musical as well as other specials.

Q: When does the Worship Orchestra rehearse?

A: We have two weekly rehearsals. Currently, we rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 and on Sunday afternoons from 4:45-5:45. During Christmas and Easter, there may be additional rehearsals and each musician is notified of that change.

Q: Where does the Worship Orchestra rehearse?

A: For Wednesday and Sunday rehearsals, we meet in the choir loft located in the Worship Center. On Sunday mornings, we meet at 8:30 a.m. in the Worship Center to rehearse all music for the morning worship service.

Q: What do I need to wear on Sunday mornings when playing in the Worship Orchestra?

A: It is our desire as “temple musicians” to make sure that our outward appearance is as presentable as our inward appearance. We desire to give Christ our best in all that we do, including our dress. Many of our members wear business casual apparel and that is preferred on Sunday mornings. We request that none of our musicians wear jeans or shorts on Sunday mornings. Our sole desire is to create an atmosphere that draws attention only to the Savior. Special event dress includes tuxes for men (or all black if notified) and all black for ladies.

Q: How old do you have to be before playing in the Worship Orchestra?

A: High school and above.

Q: Is childcare provided for rehearsals?

A: Childcare is provided by reservation only. We want to be equipped with the appropriate number of teachers and ask that you reserve a childcare spot one week in advance of rehearsal.
