A: No, you do not have to be a member to sing in the choir. Also, no audition is required.
Q: How often does the Worship Choir sing?
A: The Worship Choir leads corporate worship each Sunday morning. In addition, the Worship Choir participates in our Living Christmas Tree and our Easter musical.
Q: When does the Worship Choir rehearse?
A: We have two weekly rehearsals. Many of our choir members are involved in other areas of ministry. Having two rehearsals allows those involved in other ministries to be able to attend at least one weekly rehearsal. Others enjoy having two weekly rehearsals in order to learn their music. Currently, we rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 and on Sunday afternoons from 4:45-5:45. During Christmas and Easter, there may be additional rehearsals and each choir member is notified of that change.
Q: Where does the Worship Choir rehearse?
A: For Wednesday and Sunday rehearsals, we meet in the choir loft located in the Worship Center. On Sunday mornings, we meet in the choir room (Room 302) to quickly rehearse our special for that Sunday morning. We ask that all choir members be in the choir room with their robes on and in their seats by 10:00 a.m.
Q: What do I need to wear on Sunday mornings when singing in the Worship Choir?
A: Currently, we wear robes on Sunday morning. Our robes are located in the choir room.
Q: Does music have to be memorized?
A: Yes, all music is memorized. However, words are provided on a screen just in case you forget.
Q: How will I memorize my music?
A: We plan our services three to four months in advance. All our songs are on an audio CD that you will receive when you come to choir. Choir members are also able to check out music to take home for extra rehearsal and bring it back the following week.
Q: How old do you have to be before singing in the Worship Choir?
A: 18 or older.
Q: How many special musicals do you sing each year?
A: Our Worship Choir participates in two to three major musicals each year: The Living Christmas Tree, Easter musical, and a musical in August. We also do a mini musical for the Fourth of July.
Q: Is childcare provided for rehearsals?
A: Childcare is provided by reservation only. We want to be equipped with the appropriate number of teachers and ask that you reserve a childcare spot one week prior to rehearsal.
