J.O.L.T. (Jesus On Life’s Turf) – 5th & 6th graders
The theme verse for JOLT is 1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
Planned and designed with preteen issues in mind, JOLT strives to help preteens deepen their relationship with Christ, build positive friendships, reinforce family ties, form lasting church relationships, and learn the secrets to winning in real life!
Preteen Ministry Opportunities
Sunday mornings at 9:00 we have a Sunday School class just for Preteens using David C. Cook’s Live Wire curriculum.
Currently, on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm Preteen JOLT meets in various homes. We eat, fellowship, play games, and have a life application lesson. We would like for your student to join us. Please call or email the church office for a list of dates and locations.
On Wednesday’s during Awana, preteens have their own department with separate classes for boys and girls during handbook and council times. Preteens join together for game time.
During Vacation Bible School, our 5th and 6th grade Preteen’s are LITs (Leaders In Training). They receive a leader shirt and assist an adult with a small group of children. VBS this year was June 6-10, but varies from year to year.
During the summer months Preteen JOLT meets on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. JOLT in the summer includes those who have finished 4th, 5th or 6th grade.
In July, we have a weekend Preteen Camp for those who have finished 4th, 5th or 6th grade. Camp this year was July 15-17 at Smoky Mountain Christian Village. Check back for details of next year’s camp next Spring!
