Truth & Training (T&T) is the Awana Club for kids in 3rd grade through 6th grade. The name Truth & Training reflects the passion to teach clubbers with the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow—today. T&T consists of a Bible-centered curriculum that helps clubbers build a firm foundation for their faith, hide God’s Word in their heart and apply the truths of Scripture to their daily lives. T&T engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ’s grace.
T&T is composed of two clubs, with distinct curriculum, uniforms, and awards. T&T Ultimate Adventure is for 3rd and 4th graders, and T&T Ultimate Challenge is for 5th and 6th graders. Before working in a handbook, kids new to T&T complete a short booklet called the Start Zone, that explains God’s plan of salvation. T&T Clubbers work at their own pace, and are allowed to complete up to four sections a night. The boys and girls have separate handbook and council time, but come together for game time in their own distinct clubs.
T&T Ultimate Adventure™ teaches third- and fourth-graders that salvation in Christ is the ultimate adventure! Kids in T&T learn that the Bible is true and they can firmly trust what it says. Each Ultimate Adventure handbook answers four questions about God and the Bible that third- and fourth-graders frequently ask. Clubbers learn eight answers to each of these questions along with verses to back up these answers. The handbooks include Bible studies and activities that allow children to go deeper into the subject matter.
Kids love Streamwood the dog, the most popular T&T character, and display handbook progress and success on the Streamwood Award Bar. Red is for T&T Ultimate Adventure Book One, and blue is for T&T Ultimate Adventure Book Two.
T&T Ultimate Challenge™ trains fifth- and sixth-graders that walking faithfully with Christ is the ultimate challenge!
Each Ultimate Challenge handbook answers four questions about God and the Bible that preteens typically ask. Kids learn eight answers to each of these questions, memorizing verses that back up the answers. Bible studies, activities and service opportunities take them further into the subject matter.
In T&T Ultimate Challenge clubbers personalize their jerseys by choosing an Award Emblem and placing it anywhere in the white areas of the jersey. Clubbers earn an Emblem for each “Challenge” completed.
T&T club meetings combine a variety of dynamic tools to get kids excited about God’s Word. Each club night consists of three segments:
Clubbers are given an opportunity to earn Awana money. At check-in time, they earn a “buck” for each of the following:
They also receive a “buck” when they finish a section in their handbook. T&T clubbers can spend their Awana money at the Awana store on one designated night in December and again in May.
